Amazon returns: what to know before buying

Understand customer returns, mixed pallets and the details you should check before purchasing wholesale stock.

What are Amazon customer returns?

Customer returns are items sent back after purchase. When grouped into lots, their condition can vary considerably: some may look complete, while others have opened packaging, signs of use, missing parts or faults. Do not assume that all items are new or working.

Lots may include electronics, small appliances, homewares, kitchenware, toys, sports equipment and tools. Actual contents differ from one lot to another and must be checked against the available information.

Three essential things to check

01 · CONDITION

Tested or untested?

An untested lot does not guarantee the functionality of individual items. Review any grading terms given in the offer.

02 · CONTENTS

With or without a manifest?

A manifest is a list of the items believed to be included. Without one, the contents and quantities may be unknown or only partially known.

03 · FORMAT

Boxes, pallets or truckloads?

The shipping format indicates the volume of goods, not the number of working items. Quantity, weight and dimensions depend on the lot.

Before placing an order

  • Lot description: categories, stated quantities and merchandise condition.
  • Manifest: whether it is available, up to date and detailed.
  • Photos: whether they show the actual lot or are illustrative.
  • Price and VAT: the total amount and the tax treatment stated in the offer.
  • Shipping: origin, destination, pallet count, cost and collection or delivery terms.
  • Resale risk: inspection, testing, repairs, disposal and unsellable goods.
Any stated MSRP or recommended retail value is an indicative reference, not a guaranteed resale value. Do not assume a profit margin or a percentage of working items without evidence for the specific lot.

Common questions about returns

Does a pallet contain only new items?

No. Depending on the stated condition, it can contain new, opened, used, incomplete or faulty items.

Are all products tested and working?

Not necessarily. Lots sold as untested can include defective or incomplete items. Review the individual listing.

Can I always know the contents in advance?

No. Some lots have manifests, while others are mixed assortments without an item list.

Can an EU business buy these lots?

Bridge Stock primarily serves professional buyers. Tax documentation and logistics depend on the individual commercial offer.

Are these lots guaranteed by Amazon?

No. The description 'Amazon returns' refers to the stated type or origin of the goods. It does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by Amazon, or a guarantee of condition.
